On the basis of mutual agreement, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Nanjing Tech University (NJTech) decided to jointly hold the first bilateral Symposium on Advanced Materials and Flexible Electronics (SAMFE) in Istanbul, Türkiye this year.

This symposium aims to promote and strengthen, not only the cooperation between two universities ITU and NJTech, but also assist in more efficient and productive collaboration between two countries China and Türkiye, in several educational and technological realms. One of the main purposes is to bring researchers from different, as well as similar backgrounds, such as physical, chemical, biological, materials science, medical, and engineering together to gain knowledge and skills from various aspects to develop more advanced structures.

The main theme of SAMFE is advanced functional materials for flexible electronics in general, which include seven focused themes of lighting and display, bioelectronics for healthcare, information science and technology, energy harvesting, wearable electronics, soft robotics, and quantum-enhanced flexible devices.

The diversity of the themes will usher the road from innovation to industry, particularly in the emerging field of flexible electronics, will find ways to tackle challenges in various areas such as health, energy, and information technologies, and will provide flexible platforms between researchers, entrepreneurs and business people.

We would like to thank you for your valuable participation to SAMFE in the great city of Istanbul, city lying on Seven Hills, bridge between Asia and Europe, and bridge between civilizations... We really appreciate all the sponsors, supporters, and exhibitors for their gracious financial contribution in happening of this event.

We wish you a pleasant and memorable time in Istanbul.
